Stats
Each character has 15 points, represented by ★'s, to distribute between the following statistics. Bonus statistic points can be allocated as rewards for activity or events. Stats reach a cap at 5 points and must have a minimum investment of 1.
Presence: Your character's level of fame, notoriety, or intimidation.
Power: Your character's level of physical and/or magical aptitude.
Fortune: Your character's level of loyalty-derived luck and wealth.
Resilience: Your character's level of willpower, health, and defenses.
Specialty Stats
Investing in specialty stats is a gamble, as in-character actions can 'expend' them. For example, if you invest in Loyalty, and your character acts Disloyal, your bonuses invested in Loyalty do not apply. Specialty Stats draw from the same pool of points as typical Stats and reach a cap at 5 points, but have no minimum investment.
Loyalty: Each 2 points invested into the Loyalty stat is worth a bonus 1 Fortune and 1 Power. When capped, this stat is worth a bonus 2 Presence, 3 Fortune and 3 Power. This stat represents your character's loyalty to the Empire. Loyalty bonuses cannot push a Stat past its cap.
Spirit: This stat represents a character's chance to still be in play without alteration after Character Death. Dying expends half of your investment into Spirit, rounded down. (5 will become 3 after death, 4 will become 2 after death, etc.)
Character Death
In 99% of cases, Character Death is done on a player consent basis. However, certain events and in-character actions, such as getting caught committing treason or losing a duel to the death, may cause the death of characters. The 'Spirit' stat is a way to avoid your character from being taken out of play. With a spirit statistic of 5, Your character may survive on the edge of Death and rise in their unchanged state if you choose. With a spirit statistic of 4, your character has a 50% chance to survive unchanged and a 50% chance to rise as a Spirit. With a spirit statistic of 3, your character has a 100% chance to rise as a Spirit. With a Spirit stat of 2, your character has a 50% chance to rise as a Spirit and a 50% chance to permanently die. With a Spirit stat of 1, your character has a 25% chance to rise as a Spirit or else permanently die.
If your character is already a Spirit, their next death is final.
In rare cases, the option to rise as Undead may be presented to a character that has died at Admin discretion. Undead are different than Spirits as they are corporeal and have unique weaknesses.
